New Year bash With Kids

Here are some ideas for the perfect New Year party with your kids:

Costume Party

Invite friends over with their children for a costume party. Hold a contest for the best costumes with prizes given to the top winners. Requiring all the costumes to be homemade will make the challenge exciting for the kids who want to work on their own costumes.

Make a Time Capsule

Gather up items from the past year and make a time capsule with your kids. Seal it up and bury it with a 50 year date. Imagine the technology difference between now and then. Be sure to have various board games on hand just in case kids start to get bored.

An Old Fashioned New Year

Break out the board games of the past and old fashioned clothes. Get out the hula hoops and old time rock music. Have a dance contest and sing some karaoke to keep the children entertained for hours. This will be a New Year to remember.

Have a Feast

When Midnight rolls around, get the whole family together for a feast. Children enjoy being a part of the New Year's toast, arrange kid-friendly beverages in their fancy cups. This should ensure good food and togetherness for 2018!

Your Own Balloon Drop

Bring in your own countdown to the New Year and do a balloon drop when the clock strikes midnight. Give your kids party hats, noisemakers, and confetti so that they can enjoy the party to the fullest. Add treats and prizes for the kids as the New Year begins.

Create a Wishing or Blessing Jar

A Wishing or Blessing Jar is a great way to give your kids something to look forward to all year long. They can write their blessings or wishes on a piece of paper and put in the jar which they can check at the end of the next year to see how many wishes came true or blessings they had in that year.

Organize a Photo Timeline Game

Create a timeline of memories with your children on New Year’s Eve. Take a printout of some photos of different years and hide them around your house. Ask children to find and put them in chronological order. They would love to see how they have grown over the years and what the New Year will bring for them.

Pack Snack Bags

Have your children pack a snack bag that they can open at midnight. They can fill it with cookies, cupcakes, and party mix. Ask them to decorate these bags with ribbon, glitters, stickers, or messages and keep them engaged till midnight.

These New Year’s Eve ideas for kids are fun and entertaining and will help you have a memorable celebration with your family and friends.

Involving your children in activities when they are young will keep you involved in theirs when they get older.
